FIRST GENERATION AND SECOND GENERATION IMMIGRANTS

Suppose you have ever heard or read about the immigrant experience. In that case, you should know that they were differentiated based on mainly two terms that are first-generation immigrants and second-generation immigrants.

The first-generation immigrants are the immigrants who left their countries and lived in another country where they are called the immigrants.

The second-generation immigrants are the ones that are born from their immigrant parents that have left their city and country and went on to live in another country. The country in which they reside now has people that know them as immigrants and their children as second-generation immigrants.

Many people think that these terms are okay, but they don't understand that they can cause various problems to the people.

The problems with both of these terms are

1) Often, when parents and small children move from one country to another, the child is called the second-generation immigrant, which he/she is not because the child was not born in the second country. He or she was brought after they were born in a different country.

2) Many people also change their status to different nationalities legally after they shift, and they should not be called immigrants. Rather, they have become the new members of the country, and they shouldn't be called or treated as immigrants.

Immigrants stories have told us that the children born after they have entered their second country should be treated as members of society, but many people still do not treat them properly. Many people still think of them as second-generation immigrants and try to differentiate them from the others.

The children born after they have entered the new country get a good education and proper healthcare, rather than the children who were not born in the country. They are neither given proper attention in schools neither in the medical care centers. This creates various barriers for them and their family and hurts their mental and physical health. Because of lower attention on their studies, they can't help the economy grow better and rather have to work for money to eat two times of food. They can't reach a good position at the job because of their poor education and suffer from various health-related problems, which may haunt them for the rest of their lives.

The sole purpose of this article was to let various people know that people who have left their countries and have become legal members of the society should not be treated as immigrants, and the second generation that is also treated as immigrants should rather be called the first generation in the country.
